About Ivylane
While not always in Boxers, dogs have always been a major part of my life. I started out with Rottweilers and German Shepherd Dogs, but always had a Boxer as a house pet.
My Rotties and Shepherds were true working dogs competing in Obedience, Tracking, and Schutzhund. I also have trained Search and Rescue Dogs, Police Patrol Dogs and Narcotics Detection Dogs. I then decided to try my hand in the breed ring. I figured, how hard can it be to have a pretty dog stand still, gait, stand still, and gait again? BOY was I in for a rude awakening! Not only is it hard to find the right dog, it is hard to break into this sport as an owner handler especially in the tough rings of the Working group.
Luckily, along my journey, I met Donna Merolla of Ravenwood Boxers. Donna and I became great friends and through her I met Debbie Struff of Raklyn Boxers, Elaine Mangiafico of Elytes Boxers and Carol Josephson of SweetBriar Boxers. These women all in some way or another became not only my mentors, but my closest friends in this sport. I am forever thankful for all that they have taught me and continue to teach me. Without their guidance and support, like most newcomers, I would have given up long ago. Thanks to them sharing their knowledge, friendship and support, I am now handling dogs professionally.
Liotto-Starr Handling Services
|
In 2009 Ike Liotto of Liotto Boxers and I combined our Handling Services. Our primary show territories are in FL, GA, AL, MS, LA and TX. This keeps us pretty busy.
We travel to shows in a 42’ Custom Haulmark motor coach. The back of the truck is designed solely for the comfort of the dogs. Dogs are kept at the motor home at all times except during show time. All dogs are exercised several times a day. We maintain a twice a day feeding schedule. |
Contact Tina Starr regarding handling rates and show schedule. For more information go to Liotto-Starr Handling.
